First Choice of Seats

When you subscribe, you will be the first to get information about the upcoming concert season and have the first choice of seats.

Advance Ticketing

Avoid lines at the box office. You will receive your tickets in the mail well in advance, allowing you to go into the concert hall without delay.

Flexible Ticket Exchange

Last minute business trip? Babysitter cancel? Just don't feel up to going out? The Des Moines Symphony has a flexible ticket exchange policy. Simply bring your tickets to the Civic Center box office or mail them to the Symphony office, 221 Walnut St., Des Moines, IA, 50309; prior to the concert and we'll exchange your tickets for another performance. Please note: Exchanges are free unless you exchange for a higher ticket price and then you'll only pay the difference. Classical concert tickets cannot be exchanged for Add-on concerts (Opening Gala and New Year's Eve).

Tax Credit

If you can't exchange your ticket, just mail your tickets to the Symphony office, 221 Walnut Street, Des Moines, Iowa, 50309; and we will gladly accept your tickets as a donation and send you a receipt for tax purposes.

Prelude

Join Arlene DeVries for a pre-concert lecture and discussion prior to each of the Des Moines Symphony's classical performances. Arlene is a faculty member of the Des Moines Public School System's Gifted and Talented program and explores the history of the composers and repertoire during this 45-minute lecture. With recorded excerpts, Arlene gives some helpful listening tips if you're new to classical music or if you just need to refresh your memory! Lectures are free of charge to subscribers and are held in the East Lobby of the Civic Center.
