PreludeJoin Arlene DeVries for a pre-concert lecture and discussion prior to each of the Des Moines Symphony's classical performances. Arlene is a faculty member of the Des Moines Public School System's Gifted and Talented program and explores the history of the composers and repertoire during this 45-minute lecture. With recorded excerpts, Arlene gives some helpful listening tips if you're new to classical music or if you just need to refresh your memory! Lectures are free of charge to subscribers and are held in the East Lobby of the Civic Center. Check out Barnes and Noble at www.bn.com. |
