The Music of Sandra Moore Wacha

Silver

Silver is a collection of pieces from American, English and French composers, chosen primarily because of the simplicity and beauty of the melodic and harmonic content and because the selections are very close to my heart.

—Sandra Moore Wacha with Ron Albrecht, piano

Sensations of Summer

"Sensations of Summer" is the third installment in the trio's salute to the seasons. The disc features a new piece by composer Laurie MacGregor titled "What is Blue?" This is a song from MacGregor's musical adaptation of Mary O'Neill's book, Hailstones and Halibut Bones. This arrangement for flute, cello and harp was composed for the Odyssey Trio. The CD also features arrangements to listen to on lazy summer afternoons including Rachmaninoff's Daisies and Bach's Sonata VI.

Winter White

Odyssey Trio's first CD was released in 1998 and contains beautiful music for flute, cello and harp with cellist Tom Hudson and harpist Kristin Maahs. Winter White consists of music of the season such as the Vaughan Williams' Fantasy on Greensleves, Vivaldi's Largo from Winter, Cradle Song by Brahms and beautiful arrangements of familiar Christmas carols.

Always Autumn

The second release, Always Autumn, also features Hudson and Maahs. Laurie MacGregor, a composer from Hanover, New Hampshire, has composed new pieces for the trio that are beautiful descriptions of different colors. Her compositions include "What Is White?" on Winter White, "What Is Brown?" and "What Is Orange?" on Always Autumn.

"I love the way the three of you breathe together, the way the music ebbs and flows. I love your passion in 'Orange.
Thank you for feeling the music the way I do."
—MacGregor says of the trio
