JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Group Sales Representative
Reports To: Marketing Director
Date: March 20, 2008
POSITION DETAILS
The Group Sales Representative is responsible for the group sales efforts of the organization and related support activities. The person will be hired as an independent contractor on a contract basis and will be paid a commission.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
- Working with the Marketing Director, develops the annual plan for group sales of season tickets and single tickets.
- o Develops and prioritizes prospect list.
- o Develops sales strategies to maximize results.
- Works with the Marketing Director to develop materials needed to support group sales efforts.
- Directly solicits businesses and organizations for group sales through telephone contacts and personal calls.
- Assures that ticket requests from groups are processed in a timely manner, and resolves any group-related ticket problems to the satisfaction of customers.
- Maintains appropriate records of transactions, including data input.
- Provides clear and accurate sales reports, as requested by the Marketing Director and/or Executive Director.
- Assists the Marketing Director with other group sales-related tasks.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish rapport and credibility with corporate clients.
- Interest and skills in sales and marketing.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage details.
- Strong writing and computer skills, including knowledge of data base and spreadsheet programs.
- Available to work as needed during normal business hours to accomplish sales goals.
