Symphony Orchestra

Advanced players may audition in the fall and spring for placement in the Symphony Orchestra. This full orchestra includes strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion. Participation in this group promotes musical experience through the study and performance of standard orchestral repertoire and contemporary works. Student soloists may be featured in concerto performance accompanied by the orchestra. Technical skills include playing in all keys and the ability to demonstrate advanced proficiency on the instrument.

The Symphony Orchestra performs at least two concerts during the school year. Audition required.

Minimum Playing Experience Requirements:

  • String players, five years; brass, woodwind, and percussion players, three years.

Recommended string player ability levels:

  • Suzuki book 7+
  • Shifting past 5th position for all violins and violas, thumb position knowledge and harmonics for cellos and basses

Ages up to 12th grade

Tuition: $355 for the year

Recommended string player ability levels:

A full rehearsal/concert schedule will be available at the first rehearsal.
All Rehearsals and Performances are held at the The Temple for Performing Arts.

NOTE: Tuition to Youth Symphonies may be paid in 2 equal installments.
