The "Triple" & Mahler 5

The "Triple" & Mahler 5

The transformative, turbulent Mahler 5 – plus, Symphony Principals Jonathan and Julie Sturm are featured in Beethoven’s “Triple” Concerto

Our April concerts open with British composer Anna Clyne’s Masquerade, a rollicking tapestry of sound based on an old English drinking song. The infectious fun continues with Beethoven’s “Triple” Concerto, featuring the intertwining melodies of Concertmaster Jonathan Sturm and Principal Cellist Julie Sturm along with pianist Nicholas Roth. Finally, the concert concludes with Mahler’s Fifth Symphony and its intense and poignant orchestral portrayal of turbulent love. Tragedy turns to triumph in this transformative, virtuosic orchestral experience.
