I'm Olivia Guns, Marketing Manager for the Des Moines Symphony, and I volunteered to create the first "Music Monday" playlist to highlight some film scores that I would consider underappreciated.
I'm a huge film lover and around middle school I started really noticing the impact music had on how I experienced a film, and these scores and tracks in particular have really stuck with me. A few of my favorites are the opening theme from Carol (2015), all of Daft Punk's incredible Tron Legacy (2010) score, and the second movement from Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, which was used to incredible effect in Tarsem's The Fall (2006).
